The Presentation and Pre-recorded Video Guidelines

Thank you for your participation as an invited speaker at the 2022 VLSI- DAT Symposium.
Below please read the guidelines to prepare your video presentation.
 
  • Step1: Please download the presentation template and prepare your slides.

     Note: According to the speaker’s reply sheet, if you agree to share your presentation slides with the
              attendees, your presentation file (in pdf format) will be posted on the conference website during the
              virtual conference (4/25~5/24). Speakers can choose to submit either full (as presented in oral) or a
              simplified slides. Download of the slides file (.pdf) is permitted for conference attendees. If you are
              not willing to share the slides with the conference attendees, your slides will not be made available
              on the conference website.

  • Step2: Have your power point ready and use the tool as follows. While displaying your slides as you talk, you can show your face through the webcam method (highly recommended and encouraged). Here are the software we suggest for you to record your presentation:
         (1) Zoom: Local Recording – Zoom Help Center
         (2) OBS (Open Broadcaster Software): OBS Studio Quickstart
         (3) ActivePresenter: Record Video Demonstrations with ActivePresenter 8
  • Step 3: Save your file with the naming convention: SP_presenter
        SP: Session number+ Paper number (D1-3, D2-1…); presenter- speaker name
        For example, D1-3_Smith Wang (the session and paper numbers can be found from the Program
        menu of conference website).
 
  • Step 4: Please upload the following files at  https://www.dropbox.com/request/2CxYLe6JXN6h8txDCSBZ and complete your upload no later than April 11, 2022 23:59 (GMT+8)
    (1) video file (.mp4): For Virtual Conference or to be played on-site for overseas speaker.
    (2) presentation slides (.ppt/.pptx): For your on-site speech.
    (3) slides for Virtual Conference (.pdf)*: For attendees to download after conference.
      Note:
        (1) Video presentation must be in MP4 format.
        (2) Power point aspect ratio- 16:9
        (3) Video Resolution: 1080p recommended, 720p minimum
        (4) Use a good headset with microphone close to mouth BUT away from direct line of mouth to reduce
             “pops”. Avoid using your computer’s laptop’s or desktop’s built-in microphone on computer.
       (5) Duration of video presentation:
             * Keynote presentations 45 minutes
             * Invited presentations 30-35 minutes
             * Industrial session ( D10 ; D11 ) : 18-20 minutes
             * Tutorial presentations 80 minutes
       Q&A:
        (1) Physical meeting (4/18-21):Q&A is conducted at the meeting (except overseas speakers). Only
             Keynote and Joint Special Sessions will hold real time Q&A for overseas speakers. Besides, a virtual
              platform will be prepared that allows participants to network with speakers during the conference.
             * Keynote Session for overseas speaker (J1;J3;J6)
             * Joint Session for invited speaker (J2;J4;J5)
        (2) On-demand Virtual (4/25-5/24): After viewing video, attendees can reach out to presenter via email.
