How to come to Taiwan
Taiwan's international flights are well developed and there are two international airports, Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport. Thirty-four Airlines fly to 56 major cities around the world from Taiwan, and the average flight time from Taiwan to major cities in the Asia-Pacific region is only two-and-a-half hours. A direct flight from the West Coast of the U.S. to Taiwan takes only 12 hours, and flights are frequent. Visitors can take advantages of the domestic flight, Taiwan's island-wide railway system, comprehensive highway network and convenient bus services to visit the beautiful island. The convenient international airport for the conference is the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.

– THSR (Taiwan High-Speed Rail)After arriving at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, please take the shuttle bus from the airport to Taiwan Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station (THSR), and then transfer to Hsinchu THSR. It only takes 11 minutes by high-speed rail from Taoyuan to Hsinchu, and the one-way fare is TWD 130 per person. Please refer to the THSR timetable and make reservations on the following website.
– Airport Taxi
Taxis operating by shifts are located at the west side of the Arrival Lobbies of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. All taxis and drivers must pass a strict evaluation process by the Aviation Police Office before being allowed to service airport travelers. The comprehensive management protocol ensures safety for all travelers. The airport taxi charges according to the meter plus a 15% surcharge with highway tolls are not included. Typical cost of a taxi ride to Hsinchu is around TWD1,500 (USD50).
– Taxis
A large number of taxis are available in most major cities. Basically, taxi fares in all major cities are set by the local city government itself, and there are few variations. The meter may not be used for out-of-town or long-distance travel; travelers are advised to confirm the charging method before getting in a taxi. Most drivers do not speak English, so it is a good idea to have hotel personnel write both your destination and your hotel's name and address in Chinese, along with the projected cost of each one-way trip for you.
